[FR] Après avoir étudié à l’institut Saint-Luc de Tournai, à l’université Moholy-Nagy de Budapest et aux Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg, Guillaume Ninove expose pour la première fois ses bas-reliefs en Belgique à la galerie Zedes. Dans cette série «De l’ordinaire», il axe principalement son travail sur la structure architecturale. Son sujet est propice autant à un retour nostalgique à sa ville natale qu’à un regard, singulier, sur les formes et les errances de l’architecture contemporaine. Plastiques, cadrés, presque chirurgicales, ses bas-reliefs isolent les bâtisses. En utilisant des matériaux de récupération et les résidus de notre société de consommation, Guillaume Ninove recycle et transforme ces déchets, en structures architecturales fictives et réelles à la froideur géométrique.

[NL] Na zijn studies aan het Sint-Lucas Instituut te Doornik, aan de Moholy-Nagy Universiteit van Budapest en Decoratieve Kunsten te Straatsburg, worden de bas-reliëfs van Guillaume Ninove voor het eerst in België tentoongesteld in de Zedes Art Gallery. Voor deze reeks, handelen zijn werken voornamelijk rond architecturale structuren. Zijn onderwerp, “het ordinaire”, blijkt uitermate geschikt voor een nostalgische terugblik op zijn geboortestad en tegelijk biedt het een uitermate dankbare invalshoek op de vormen en dwalingen van de hedendaagse architectuur. Creaties in plastic, strak gekaderd, neigend naar koel en chirurgisch, isoleren deze bas-reliëfs de bouwsels. Gebruik makend van gerecupereerde materialen en andere resten van onze consumptiemaatschappij recycleert en transformeert Guillaume Ninove dit afval tot fi ctieve en reële architecturale structuren met een beklemmende meetkundige kilte.
